Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Welcome to 18th Japan-Korea-Taiwan Joint Conference for Gynecological Pathology!

To all members of Gynecological Pathology Study Committee of the Taiwan Society of Pathology, it is our privilege having this opportunity to host this conference in Taipei. This is a so exciting occasion, not just because we will be able to meet old friends once again and know more new friends, but also it is the first time that this Joint Conference will be held in Taiwan.

Ever since May 2013, the members of Gynecological Pathology committee of Taiwan Society of Pathology have started working on the theme of the Conference. In view of the fact that uterine mesenchymal tumor is a histologically and genetically heterogenous group with some emerging advances in pathogenesis, the uterine corpus lesion with emphasis on mesenchymal tumor is approved to be the major concern of the Conference with unanimous agreement. With regard to this topic, it is our great pleasure to invite Dr. Cheng-Han Lee of University of Alberta and Royal Alexandra Hospital, who has had many outstanding papers and projects in this field in recent years, to give us an excellent keynote lecture. Also included are mini-lectures and slide presentations from three member countries and other guest speakers. Furthermore, this time is also the first time we try to add the poster session to the conference program. The main purpose of this session is to encourage young pathologists’ attendance by providing them with more opportunities for academic presentation.

We would also like to express our cordial thanks to Dr. Insun Kim, who is one of founders of this joint conference and will give us a talk introducing the history and development of this joint conference. We believe, by understanding the fine traditions of this Joint Conference, we will be able to further promote academic interactions among member countries in the future and make mutual friendships last long.

In addition to academic activities, we hope all our guests will also take this opportunity to visit some scenic attractions and enjoy different cultural experience in Taiwan.

Last, welcome you to this joint conference once again and wish you all an unforgettable stay in Taiwan!
